Samui Ex Servicemen Get Together November 2011
A trip out to The Red Fox in Lamai once again did not fail to impress. Alan produced his now customary cheese board preceded by Shepherds pie which most people who came along could not resist a second helping.
The Poppy boxes were organised for distribution and now should be spread across the island at various locations. Thank you to Alan for hosting the Samui Ex Servicemen get together in October and I am sure we all look forward to the next visit to The Red Fox.
The next time we meet will be Tuesday the 1st November from 4:30 pm onwards at Riks in Bang Rak. Bob Keen, alias Bob the Towel, is on holiday on Samui at the moment and will be coming along, so anybody who would like to catch up with Bob this could be the perfect opportunity.
13th November will see the 3rd annual Service of Remembrance on Koh Samui, we have experienced a steady increase in attendance at this service over the past two years and it would be nice to see everybody there again this year.
Looking forward to seeing everybody on Tuesday.

70’S DISCO CHARITY FUNDRAISER AT FAIRWAYS
70’S DISCO CHARITY FUNDRAISER
24 SEPTEMBER, 7.30PM ‘TIL LATE
Dear All,
Fairways would like to invite you to attend their First Charity Fundraiser, a 70s’ Disco Showcase, on
September 24, 2011. The party starts at 7.30pm and it’s a Saturday night, so make a date in your diaries now!
Of course kids are always welcome at Fairways, and the soft play area will be open all night, but you may want
to take the opportunity to make this a parents’ night out.
There’ll be plenty of likeminded Samui residents to meet, and the chance to enjoy really great music in an
ambient setting. Relax, have a dance and dress up 70s’ style if you dare! DJ Dexter Goodlove will be spinning
the grooves, there’ll be 70s’ games and disco dance offs (crowd willing!), plus top prizes on auction donated by
the local business community.
They are aiming to raise funds for Koh Samui Hospital’s Children Ward, which is sorely in need of new
equipment. Over the coming months through a series of events, we hope to provide a new incubator,
respirators and various state-of-the-art monitors. Dr Jirawan Arayaphong, Deputy Hospital Director and Head
of the Children’s Ward, has also told us that she hopes we can help finance the refurbishment of the children’s
playground.
If you would like to make a donation, or start the ball rolling with a cash donation to add to our target board,
Fairways hope you will let your friends know about Fairways’ First Charity Fundraiser on Saturday, September
24, 2011!
