Samui Ex Servicemen November 2010 Get Together

Last month we all met up at The Sky Bar in Bang Rak, our host Charlie did us proud with an excellent Spag. Bol. We had a good turn out and I hope everybody who came along had a good time.

This month we will be at The Red Fox in Lamai on the 2nd November from 4:30 pm onwards. Alan always puts on a good spread so come on over to Lamai. There is a rumour that cheap beer will be on offer aswell.

The Poppy Appeal is now well underway with collection boxes are spread around various Locations on Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.

On Sunday the 14th November 2010 there will be a Service of Remembrance held at The Elephant and Castle in Bang Rak. All those who wish to attend should be there by 10:30 am.

Samui Ex Servicemen October 2010 Get Together

Thanks to Paul at The Full Moon Bungalows in Bang Rak for hosting the September gathering of the Samui Ex Servicemen. I hope all who were able to attend had a good time.

The Next time we meet will be on Tuesday the 5th October 4:30 pm onwards, at a NEW venue for us, The Sky Bar in Bang Rak (Opposite The Elephant and Castle).

Charlie will be our host and food will be served from 6:00 pm.

Samui Ex Servicemen August 2010 Get Together

The July 2010 gathering of the Samui Ex Servicemen was at the Samui Dojo where everybody who attended had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, drinking the fridge dry and eating some top quality tofu sausage hot dogs. Geoff, our host, sadly is no longer with us. Let us all hope he is looking down on us from the great Dojo in the sky. May he Rest In Peace.

The August 2010 Get Together will be at The Elephant and Castle in Bang Rak this coming Tuesday  the 3rd of August from 4:30 pm onwards this is also Mark's birthday.

Food will be served for us at about 5:30 pm however if you are are unable to get there until later there will be a finger food buffet in the evening.

Samui Ex Servicemen July 2010 Get Together

A highly successful evening was had at The Cork and Cask in Chaweng for the June gathering. A tasty curry was provided by Joe and we even indulged in a small darts and pool competition in which some visiting Australians also took part.

The next time we meet will be on the 6th June, 4:30 pm onwards at The Samui Dojo, heading south of Lamai, turn right after the Jubilee restaurant and follow the signs.

Armed Forces Day 2010

Thanks to everybody who came along to The Armed forces Day at The Cork and Cask. A good evening was had by all and as ever an excellent curry supper was provided by The Cork and Cask.

We hope to make this an annual event and look forward to an even larger turn out next year.

UK Armed Forces Day 26th June 2010

Armed Forces Day is this Saturday 26 June 2010. The day is an annual opportunity for the general public to Show Their Support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families and from veterans to cadets.

Samui Ex Servicemen are having a curry night at The Cork and Cask in Chaweng on Saturday the 26th June starting 8:00 pm Everybody is welcome to attend and The Cork and Cask are providing free food. Please come along and show your support for the Armed Forces.

Your support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families. The UK Armed Forces defend the UK and its interests. They are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers and providing security and fighting terrorism.
