Samui Ex Servicemen Get Together December 2014

The last Samui Ex Servicemen Get Together of 2014 will be at The Red Fox in Lamai on Tuesday the 2nd December from 5:30 pm onwards.

Unfortunately Alan will be unable to be there as his father has passed away and he is in the UK.

It would be good to see as many people there as possible to show our support for Alan and his family.

Looking forward to seeing everybody on Tuesday.

Poppy Appeal - Samui - 2014

Dear All,

2014 marks the centenary of the outbreak of World War I, a conflict in which hundreds of thousands of British and Commonwealth forces and civilians lost their lives.

The British Ex Servicemen community are this week distributing Poppy Appeal boxes around the Samui archipelago at various locations (list at the foot of this message)

Remembrancetide this year commences on Sunday 26th October until Sunday 9th November. The Poppy Appeal boxes will remain in place until the 11th November 2014.

A Remembrance Service will be held on the 9th November, details to be published nearer the time.

The generous support of the resident community for the Poppy Appeal each year is very much appreciated.

Samui Ex Servicemen Get Together September 2014

Thanks to the Staff at the Red Fox for hosting the August 2014 Samui Ex Servicemen get together and to those who came along.

The next get together will be at The Shakespeare in Bang Rak about 500 metres up the Ghost Road on the right, on Tuesday the 2nd August from 5:30 pm onwards.

All serving and ex servicemen are welcome to come along have a chat, some complimentary food and a few drinks.

Hope to see everybody on Tuesday.

The last time we met was in July at The Shakespeare Bar, Thanks to Joe and his staff for entertaining us.

We next meet at The Red Fox in Lamai this Tuesday the 5th of August from 5:30 pm onwards. As always there will be some excellent food and great hospitality.

Thanks to all who made it to The Red Brick Cafe in May. A good time was had by all and the Guinness was excellent.

Thanks to Dave and his staff for being great hosts and we hope to visit again.

This coming Tuesday the 3rd June 2014 we will be gathering at The Shakespeare in Bang Rak from 5:30 pm onwards where Joe is hosting us with a Chinese night , food that is.

Many thanks and appreciation to the members for their excellent support last Tuesday night.

Everyone made a great effort and the donations and financial contributions were much appreciated.

Just shows what we can do when we all pull together.

Thanks to Alan at The Red Fox for once again astounding us with the excellent food and his staff for tolerating us!

The next time we meet will be this coming Tuesday the 4th March 2014 from 5:30 pm at The Shakespeare Bar in Bang Rak.

Samui Ex Servicmen Get Together February 2014

To Kick start 2014, our Sixth year of meetings, during the upcoming meeting this Tuesday the 4th February from 5:30 pm onwards at the Red Fox we will be holding a raffle to raise funds for our association.

This will only be possible due to your support.

We have already had a number of kind donations from local business and individual members and I hope a few more will be forthcoming. So far the donations are all Bophut based, and I was hoping some of the members based elsewhere might help with prize donations, either personally, or through your own business contacts.

The main reason for this email is to encourage members to attend and hopefully bring a friend or two to support our fund raising efforts.
